Thunder Foods is taking part in the CHEERS project by contributing to the transformation of Tenebrio molitor to incorporate protein into the formulation of an energy drink. This partnership has proved to be very interesting and important in our strategy, in that we can feed our insects with beer pomace, making this the main raw material in Thunder Foods` production process.

This investment makes it possible to meet the company`s research and development objectives, ensuring the cementing of our technology. Among the main investments are the installation of our first R&D unit, scheduled to open in 2024, and the construction of our first large-scale industrial unit, scheduled to open at the end of 2025, a unit designed to produce dozens of tons of insect-derived products per month, mainly for healthy, tasty and sustainable human food.

No dia 14 de junho foi a vez de recebermos o Chef Rui Mota e os alunos de mestrado da Escola Superior de Hotelaria e Turismo do Estoril (ESHTE), e ainda o Eng. César Marques da Quinta da Ribeirinha, para mais uma sessão de show cooking organizada pela Agenda Mobilizadora Insectera.
Nesta segunda sessão do Show Cooking foram apresentadas mais três novas iguarias confeccionadas com a farinha de tenebrio molitor produzida pela Thunder Foods.
Apesar da extraordinária confecção o sabor único do tenebrio já não nos surpreende.

A Thunder Foods vê agora o projeto InFishMix, que lidera desde 2022, terminar tendo realizado a apresentação dos resultados finais do Projeto ontem, dia 18 de abril, num evento que teve lugar no Oceanário de Lisboa.
Este evento contou com a presença de um representante da Embaixada da Noruega e de vários stakeholders de toda a cadeia de valor da aquacultura a nível ibérico, tendo ficado demonstrado o potencial da utilização das farinhas de inseto na alimentação de salmão e robalo em aquacultura.
No final da Sessão, foi ainda realizada uma apresentação do novo Mestrado em Aquacultura Sustentável da Egas Moniz School of Health & Science.
Este projeto foi financiado no âmbito do Programa Crescimento Azul dos EEA and Norway Grants, mecanismo financeiro criado pela Islândia, o Liechtenstein e a Noruega que visa reforçar as relações bilaterais entre estes três países e outros países europeus, como Portugal, favorecendo sinergias e reduzindo diferenças de desenvolvimento.

Thunder Foods is now seeing the InFishMix project, which it has been leading since 2022, come to an end, having presented the project's final results yesterday, 18 April, at an event held at the Lisbon Oceanarium.
The event was attended by a representative of the Norwegian Embassy and various stakeholders from across the Iberian aquaculture value chain, and demonstrated the potential of using insect meal to feed salmon and sea bass in aquaculture.
At the end of the session, there was also a presentation of the new Master's programme in Sustainable Aquaculture at the Egas Moniz School of Health and Science.
This project was funded under the EEA Grants Blue Growth Programme, a financial mechanism created by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway that aims to strengthen bilateral relations between these three countries and other European countries, such as Portugal, favouring synergies and reducing differences in development.
