Qualification Level: PhD
Professional Experience:
Experience in proposal writing, conducting and managing research and development projects and participating in multidisciplinary research and development teams. Proven experience in raising funding for research and innovation programs and projects. Capabilities to manage research and innovation activities, and in collaboration with companies, in project management and in technology and knowledge transfer actions. Proven experience in writing technical and scientific texts.
Requirements:
Mandatory: PhD Level. Experience in project management and communication in science. Good level of English for oral and written communication. Basic knowledge in the application and interpretation of statistical data.
Preferred: Knowledge in entomology and/or insect breeding; experience on the use of insects in animal feed and human food; Knowledge in food science and use of alternative ingredients in food products.
Functions and Activities to Perform:
Integrated into Thunder Foods R&D Department and responding directly to the R&D Diretor, manage research, development and innovation projects independently (Thunder Foods already have one H2020, one EEA Grants and one national level project approved). Collaborate with co-workers and other research and development institutions to develop Thunder Foods’ R&D activities in the areas of insect production, food products and food preparation with alternative ingredients. Conducting food preparation trials with insect-derived ingredients. Survey of funding opportunities for projects at a national and international level, participation in the preparation and submission of applications in the areas of insect production, use of insects in human food and animal feed, alternative foods and related areas. Teaching activities in higher education. Contribute to continuous improvement actions for existing processes at Thunder Foods. Other business challenges.
